Overall Rating
Excellent
Both the museum and Scaplen's Court have reopened after refurbishment. Both venues now have lift access to all floors and accessible toilets. Some of the upstairs galleries are a bit tight for space, especially when they are busy or if you have a large mobility device. Staff and volunteers are helpful and friendly, this is due to the constraints of a listed building The cafe is in Scaplen's Court now with level access from the street and through the cafe to the garden.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
Entrance doors from the street and into the first museum gallery are automatic. Other doors are manual. There are seats in each gallery, in the cafe and garden.
Accessible facilities: Lift to all areas
Parking & Transport
Poor
I travelled to this place by personal vehicle
Parking in Poole old town is limited. There are blue badge bays at either end of the quay and in the nearest multi-story carpark. However, the ramps in said carpark are narrow and corners are tight. In the winter there is one blue badge space almost outside the museum but the High Street and part of the Quay are pedestrianised for 7 months of the year.
Accessible Toilets
Good
There are accessible toilets both in the museum and Scaplen's Court
Facilities: Accessible toilet
