I am a disabled person and a carer or friend of a disabled person and a general supporter of disabled access. I have experience of challenges around: a hidden impairment, accessing toilets, dexterity or coordination and moving around.
Overall Rating
Good
A pretty accessible store layout with double doors that are kept open. There is a slight ramp to get into the store and all the aisles are wide enough to navigate around in a wheelchair. Some items up on the higher shelves are difficult to reach from a wheelchair, but other than that, the store is easily accessed independently.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
The store itself is single level and has a step-free entrance. The only issue I encountered was a clothing stand on the corner of the first aisle (this probably wouldn't have been an issue if the store wasn't so busy) that I got my wheelchair castors caught on. The aisles are wide, mostly free from obstructions and easily manoeuvred through with a wheelchair.

Parking & Transport

I travelled to this place by walk or wheel
As Poundland is located on Queen Street, there isn't any dedicated parking. There are multi-storey carparks around Cardiff City Centre that are a fair distance away from the store and some on-street parking down side-streets that may be available with some luck. Links to public bus services and taxi ranks are within a short(ish) distance away from the store. Cardiff Central and Cardiff Queen Street train stations are both a fair distance away by foot from Poundstretcher and could be a struggle for people with mobility issues.
Accessible Toilets
There aren't any customer toilets available at Poundland.
Staff
I did not speak to any members of staff on my visit as my companion dealt with paying for the shopping on my behalf.
