Overview
We do not disagree with that said in the main revue. We stayed at the hotel in an ordinary room (we have only just become disabled and did not realise what the challenges are) and found access through the hotel doors difficult because few open automatically. Hotel staff were quick to jump up and open doors whenever they saw us. The bath / shower is impossible for anyone with mobility impairment to get into and there are no grab handles anywhere in ordinary rooms. Whilst getting from the hotel to the Beefeater where you can eat is easy and on one level, the pavoirs around the Beefeater are very bumpy and thus painful. The manager in the Beefeater loudly and publicly berated us for not waiting to be shown to a table (we were ignored when we arrived) and had in mind me pushing the wheelchair back to the reception desk for me to tell him my room number and then for us to come back to our table. Also a member of staff who saw us outside of the main doors did not think to come and open it for us. In summary, the hotel staff are very good and aware of disability issues, the restaurant staff need awareness training.
