Overview

Buffet style breakfast Restaurant Table/food assistance available if needed. Accessible double room with wetroom (room 4). Managed with assistance as limited floor space around the low bed for a wheelchair user. Had to move bed to gain access to left side of bed, space to the right side occupied by a high back chair and table which had to be moved. Emergency call by bed. Bed 3" lower than manual wheelchair with soft mattress. Fridge provided in the room as was hair dryer by a mirror useable by wheelchair user. Tea making facilities And desk. Small wardrobe difficult to access. Slide door to large wetroom, sink accessible,right hand transfer to wc with grabrails, (too high to use shower/commode chair), emergency red pull cord. Large area for shower, poor shower curtain. Drop down seat to side, Difficult to regulate water,direct showerhead when using shower seat. No emergency pull cord. Unable to reach fixed toiletries, too high and on other side of shower. Ground floor.

Transport & Parking

4 accessible parking spaces. Dropped kerb and slight gradient to entrance. On a business park next to Lidl not far from M27. Not near a train station, did not notice any bus stops in the area.

Access

Dropped kerb outside, not flush with a slight gradient, leading to two automatic doors to get in. Operated by your room card in the evening. Small accessible reception desk, where you have to wait for staff to appear. Could not see a bell, no induction loop, clear perspex box to drop your key in when leaving. Would be difficult for unaccompanied people with hearing or sight impairments. Corridor to rooms limited in space and opened with room card. Limited signage.

Toilets

Did not see any signage for an accessible wc in public area ie reception, restaurant.

Staff

Restaurant staff helpful, provided a table service one morning for breakfast. receptionist pleasant when we arrived.

Receptionist wore a mask. One member of restaurant staff kept his mask under his chin. Hand sanitiser available. Extra pillows in a bag. Bed was 2 twins pushed together, too low. More room required for wheelchair users. Firmer matress required.
