Overall Rating
Good
Regent Centre Interchange is a handy transport hub just outside of Newcastle, with the Metro station and bus interchange making it a useful spot for getting around the area. I only explored the Metro station.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
Like other local metro stations on the route, there is a lift spacious enough for a powerchair user. The lift features a hearing loop alongside braille controls at the call button. There are also steps with handrails and tactile markings, as well as escalators. On the platform, you'll find fold-down benches, overhead signage, and platform edges marked with both yellow lines and tactile paving.
Parking & Transport
Good
I travelled to this place by walk or wheel
There is a large car park next to the interchange, which was steadily emptying when I arrived late afternoon. Several buses were also stopped outside.
Accessible facilities: Public or on street parking, Dedicated on-site parking, Drop-off or pick up point
Accessible Toilets
There is no toilet.
Staff
Good
Two members of staff greeted me as I arrived. The local school had emptied out, so I'm not too sure if they were only there for that reason - either way, they were friendly.
