Overview

It may not look much from the outside as you pass through the east gate into the Botanical Garden, but this restaurant has a varied menu featuring seasonal produce, with options for vegetarians and vegans. You can eat indoors - access from the gate area is barrier-free or on a large and pleasant terrace with vines - one step down from the restaurant interior or accessible along a short cobbled path.

Transport & Parking

Can't comment on the parking. See review of the Botanical Garden for the best way of getting there. Metrobus M48 drops you right by the east gate of the gardens and the restaurant is just inside, past the ticket office and on the left.

Access

Good - level entry to the indoor area of the restaurant, one step down from there to a shallow ramp leading past the accessible loo to the outdoor terrace and tables.

Toilets

The waitress who unlocked it was very apologetic about its state. The floor did need a sweep. But everything else was fine. Grab rails round the loo, a wheelchair accessible washbasin and a single alarm button not too far above floor level. You have to request the key, and accessing the loo means going a short distance out of doors, which wouldn't be fun in wet weather. The waitress took the key away with her, and a not obviously disabled German gatecrashed our session but backed out when he saw us.

Staff

Friendly and helpful. Service was prompt and our waitress spoke good English and was very charming.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

Not the cheapest eatery - the two of us had a main course and a drink each and the bill came to €34.50, but the quality of the food was excellent and the terrace was a very pleasant place to eat. We were lucky to be there in the white asparagus season.
