I am a disabled person. I have experience of challenges around: accessing toilets, dexterity or coordination and moving around.
Overall Rating
Good
We found this venue to be mostly accessible, though I did need some assistance with getting to the toilet and with some of the ramps.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
The venue is mostly on one level, though there are a couple of steps from reception to the museum area and cafe. There is a permanent ramp into the museum but it was too steep for me to manage independently, not helped by it being carpeted. After that, everything was very accessible and easy until we got to the shop/cafe area, where there were more steep ramps. The cafe was lovely and we were able to move chairs to accommodate me and my assistance dog. Getting to the toilets/reception area was via a portable ramp which was also too steep.
Accessible facilities: Step-free entrance, Step-free access to most areas
Parking & Transport
Good
I travelled to this place by walk or wheel
We visited Royal Delft whilst on a motorhome tour of the Netherlands. We stayed at Delftse Hout and walked/wheeled to the museum, which took about half an hour. The whole town is flat and fairly easy to wheel around.
Accessible Toilets
Average
The toilet was okay but not that big and there was only one, in reception, which meant going up and down the steep ramps. It was clean and had grab rails, so I was okay.
Facilities: Accessible toilet
Staff
Excellent
All staff were very friendly and helpful.
