Overview
This hotel has the tools in place to be accessible but it isn't ideal for all accessibility needs. We stayed in room 108 after having to pay £20 to 'upgrade' to an accessible room. The room is on the first floor accessed by a lift that requires the key card to select the floor required. The room is large, airy, and has space go manoeuvre a travel wheelchair around in. The bathroom is easily accessible from a chair with this room having a toilet with access to transfer from one side. (See photos). The shower is a roll in shower, with small seat and moveable grab rails. The shower is a rainfall and handheld mix allowing for easy showering. The bed is at a standard chair height to transfer (sorry, no tape measure with me!) There is a small desk area too with a wooden dining style chair. A recommended improvement for the room would be a mirror over the desk as the only other mirror is located on the back of rhe room door, and a shelf in the bathroom to facilitate storing personal items. The hotel corridors are tight in places so I wouldnt recommend staying here if you use a wider/longer wheelchair/scooter. The seats in the bar are tall seats unless you can get the attention of a staff member to work the stair-lift. At breakfast the items are located on a tall table and were difficult to access thought staff were nearby to assist (when other guests hadn't already offered). Overall, I enjoyed my stay here but I am an ambulatory powered wheelchair user and with some of the accessibility issues, I wouldnt recommend the hotel for a solo wheelchair user.
Transport & Parking
No local car park - we had to park a 15-minute walk away.
Access
No step entry, but check-in is via a tablet mounted into the top of a unit at round 1.4m height
Toilets
In room 108 there is grab rails and a back rest for the toilet.
Staff
Very helpful and understanding that the building isn't fully accessible.
