Overview

Sebastian's Italian is an accessible restaurant in Richmond. It is step free with an accessible toilet. Its food is sublime, I think one of the best pizzas I have ever eaten, the food was utterly delicious, staff really nice and it was just a lovely experience from start to finish.

Transport & Parking

The nearest tube and railway station is Richmond Station which has step free access via lift. It is a 5 minute walk from there to the restaurant. There are several buses that stop in the main street close by the restaurant.

Access

There is a manual entrance door. The restaurant is located on the ground floor and has step free access. Most of the seating is free standing tables and chairs, with some fixed booth seating towards the rear. The main path through the restaurant is quite wide and was easy for me to walk through with my crutch. There is also an outdoor eating area, which is not currently in use due to the seasonal weather.

Toilets

The accessible toilet is at the rear of the restaurant. There are 2 doors manual to access it. The first door leads into a small vestibule where the toilet door is. The toilet was spacious and clean. There were grab rails. Unfortunately the emergency red cord was broken and most it was lying on the floor. Please note all the other toilets are at the front of the restaurant by the main door, and involve descending a flight of stairs.

Staff

Very friendly and helpful. When we arrived my first question was do you have an accessible toilet and the response was that they did. I said it is not mentioned on your website so we very nearly didn't come. He noted it with interest and said that this information could be added. Service was excellent throughout, very efficient and we were not rushed even though the restaurant was full. They opened the door for us when we left.

I found the restaurant by googling it and we were not disappointed. What a find. It is an Italian taverna with excellent food, lovely staff and a really pleasant atmosphere. Our food was delicious. I had a fiorentina pizza, whenever I see it on a menu I tend to have it as it's one of my favourites. However, this is the best one I have tasted as they included a little olive oil which enhanced the flavour, ensured it wasn't dry (like sometimes pizzas can be) and it just tasted amazing! For dessert we both chose the same thing, apple and cinnamon cake with hazelnut ice cream. Wow! Everything was just perfect. We both want to go back and to be honest I would be happy to go back to Richmond just to eat there again.
