Overview

We booked tickets online, with a timed entry. It all worked very smoothly. The gardens are wheelchair accessible and so is the downstairs of the house. The upstairs isn't but they have a really good video that you can watch on an iPad. We're not really into Shakespeare but it was an interesting visit. We paid £20 to get a ticket for all the Shakespeare Story attractions and hubby got a free carer's ticket.

Transport & Parking

5

We arrived in Stratford by motorhome and parked in the Leisure Centre coach park, which has designated motorhome bays. Blue badge holders park free as long as you display your badge. The pavements are mostly wide and easy to navigate. The Birthplace is on a pedestrianised street.

Access

3

The entrance area was easy to get around, with lots of space. The gardens were well surfaced with paved paths. The downstairs of the house was accessible but had some narrow doorways and the floor was uneven due it being the original. There is no lift to the upstairs but they did have a good video which I watched while hubby went up.

Toilets

5

There are two accessible toilets, one in the entrance area and one in the garden. The one in the garden is bigger but both were clean, well equipped and had grab rails in sensible places.

Staff

5

All staff were friendly and helpful, as well as having lots of knowledge and stories to share.
