Overview

I was here to see Batacchio at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe. Previous reviews have said there was no signage pointing to the level access entrance, but this has now been addressed and the first thing I saw when approaching was the wheelchair access sign! Good start. Overall access is manageable, but it's not outstanding.

Transport & Parking

Loads of buses on this street which is really handy. Can't say much about parking as I don't have a car. I walked here from the Pleasance Courtyard where I had been watching other shows.

Access

The building is quite unusual inside, as it's been fitted out as a community centre meaning there is one long corridor down the middle with lots of doors leading off it. To queue for the theatre, you'll be standing on one of two sets of stairs as you need to climb up to the seating area. If you're entering via the level access entrance, it appears as though the only way to reach the front row accessible seating is via backstage! Out the front of the venue, there was a tented bar with a ramp attached, but there's not lots of room out here. We were in for a little treat as the performers handed out free beers to audience members as they left the show!

Toilets

The accessible toilet is clearly labelled, although there were performers warming up (rehearsing?) directly in front of it. I didn't use the toilets so I can't comment on their accessibility.
