Had an appointment at the beginning of March at the new Specsavers on Morningside Road. It was an early afternoon appointment and we parked just outside the entrance. There are automatic doors to go inside. There was plenty of staff. I did not to wait to long before I was taken in for my eye test. The room was not that big but I did manage to get in in my manual wheelchair. It might be a bit of a squeeze if you are in a chunky power chair. The only problem during the tests was that my head was too low to use one of the testing machines, which looks into your eyes. After the test were completed, I was able to choose a set of frames from a large selection. It was a member of staff to advise me on my choice. I went back two weeks later to collect my chosen frames with the prescription lens fitted.

Parking may be more difficult at different times of the day. There is a restriction in the amount of time you spend parked outside the store.

The disabled toilet was a good size, it had a red cord and was clean and tidy.

I was advised that if I was to make an appointment, I would be best to phone up and ask rather than try and book online, so that’s your appointment will take place suitable area of the store as the downstairs and so not accessible for people in wheelchairs and mobility issues.
