Great day out on the steam trains. Did not use my power chair but because I am able to walk with a stick I used that instead. Wheelchairs have to be folded and placed in the guards van, mine was not small enough to be used. Booked online and we had a free companions place. Made it good value for money. All the staff very friendly and helpful. Did not have to show proof of disability, which was great. At one station we got off at there was only a bridge to cross the line. I was approached as soon as I alighted and was taken across the track by a member of staff once it was safe to do so. The website was easy to negotiate and find the accessibility statement. Because it is a heritage train line I knew there would be issues with accessibility. All the staff are quite clearly well trained and offer plenty of help. We found a good car park at one of the stations for our motorhome and we were able to use a disabled space. It was however quite a long walk to the station. Again it is a heritage railway and this was to be exoected and was pointed out on the website.
