Overall Rating
Excellent
Lovely museum in the North mainland of Shetland. There are exhibits here illustrating the history of Northmavine (the overall name of the area on the North of Shetland). It is very interesting & has exhibits from the social history of the area. There is an upstairs which is not accessible for people with poor mobility or wheelchairs, however they do have a folder at the reception desk which holds photos & descriptions of all the exhibits upstairs There is an easy access gift shop. .
Disabled Access In and Around
Level access all around the museum except for the stairs to the upstairs. Most things are on a level that it’s easily seen from a wheelchair height. There are seats available in the museum for folk to rest. All doorways & passages wide enough for wheelchairs. A lovely place to visit.
Accessible facilities: Single-level venue

Staff were very pleasant, cheerful & helpful. Willing to help you to see things & discuss exhibits. Gave me the folder with the exhibits upstairs & explained anything I had questions about. Were helpful assisting me with things in the gift shop.
