I visited the Tesco Extra store Harlech Business Park Newport on Saturday 15th May 2021 to look at buying some new clothes as lockdown restrictions are being lift and a return to near normality. The Fashion/clothing is on the first floor and I made my way to the lift. Unfortunately, the lift was out of use, so I found a member of staff passing by and ask how I could access the first floor. I was told this was not possible and I would need to visit another store. I felt disappointed, upset and discriminated against and left the store in tears. I emailed Customer Services regarding my visit. I also included that I had visited the same store in July 2020 and the lift was out of use and after emailing Customer Services was informed that the lift was awaiting parts. Again I received a reply to my email with the same excuse the lift is waiting parts which will take six weeks along with an apology. Considering the size of the company and a large store that they only have one lift which doesn’t seem fit for purpose. Please avoid this store if you are physically challenged and need to use a lift.
