I am a disabled person. I have experience of challenges around: hearing, moving around and understanding.
Overall Rating
Excellent
The art house was a great experience for me and I did lots of art. I mainly did printing with a little photography too. I am a power wheelchair user and they had Fully adjustable tables in the spacious printing room and dark room which can both accommodate about 5 wheelchair users at a time it was also very Dog friendly and bought my dog Emily with me to help me settle in. Some of the staff bring there dogs too so it’s nice for me to have a sense of home and routine during my artist residency here as I also have autism too and love animals
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
- Some doors are automatic but most of the doors you have to push/pull to open - The handles on doors are lower down so possible to open in a wheelchair - The building is easy to access In a wheelchair as all flat with lifts - They have lifts to get up and down the stairs
Parking & Transport
Good
- There was a Parking space saved for us in the small art house car park but if they didn’t save a parking space for us it would be tricky to find one as it’s all double yellow lines nearby. - they have two disabled parking bays in the car park however it’s a very small car park and other cars can block you in so you may struggle to get in or out easily and may have to ask a member of staff to ask people to move their vehicles for you to get out

Excellent
- accessible changing place toilet with special bin for nappies etc - Euans guide red cord card in accessible bathroom - Staff got shower chair for me when I asked - Accessible wet room in flat

The staff were very friendly, helpful and patient and gave us a tour round
Additional Information
- Some bits in the shared kitchen including the sink is wheelchair accessible But not the whole kitchen.
