Venue Description

We are a small family-run cottage on the Fife Coastal Path, adjoining our main family home. We are dog-friendly and wheelchair accessible. We have two rooms are available; a small double and a larger room with a sofa bed and wet room. The smaller room is not wheelchair accessible but might be suitable for a carer. There's a small patio garden at the front, and a fully equipped kitchen, and the place is completely self contained and Covid safe. Lizzie who runs the place also has mobility issues and uses a wheelchair on and off, so we have good understanding of needs, will always answer questions as transparently as we can and really will do anything we can to make your stay more comfortable. We are also an eco friendly business with a Gold Award from Green Tourism

Accessibility

We have ramped access to the front door on a 1:8 gradient. The front door only opens manually. Inside we have one small room that's not accessible, but a bigger room that is all level and has a wetroom with grab rails and a high pedestal toilet. Unfortunately the door to the bathroom is a bit narrow and doesn't fit a powerchair through it. There's a kitchen with level access and an oven with slideaway door, and an induction hob. There's also a front loading washing machine with clearance. Although we do have a tumble dryer, this again is through a narrow door. However, we are happy to help transfer laundry. We have a shower chair and bed rail available to borrow if you need it - just ask if there's anything else that might be helpful to you. We are limited by it being a listed building but are very keen to do our best to help disabled visitors.

Toilets

The door is not wide enough for a power chair (we'd like to get it widened but it's difficult because of the wet room floor), but once inside there is a high pedestal toilet with fixed grab rails.

Staff

Lizzie, one of the owners, has mobility issues and uses a mobility scooter and occasionally a wheelchair user so has a good understanding of accessibility issues around the town.

Assistance dog facilities

Assistance dog exercise facilities

We are right on the beach and it's a very popular area for dogs. You can let your dog off lead directly outside the front door.

Other assistance dog facilities

We have a dog water bowl at the front of the building that's there year-round, and can set one up inside on request.
