Overall Rating
Good
A quirky event space- my friend hired it for her 50th and turned the space into a steampunk escape room! It has a cool industrial feel to it - as the former factory there is a lot of space. There were over 100 guests over the afternoon, several wheelchair users, it was a great atmosphere and felt party-busy but never too crowded.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
There is an upstairs space (no lift for visitors) but we were only on ground floor. There is "rough and ready" charm about the Biscuit Factory. The ramp going in is steep. Please see the photos. Concrete floors so smooth wheeling once you're in. The drinks bar is quite high, but v friendly staff to help serve.
Accessible facilities: Single-level venue, Seating at regular intervals
Parking & Transport
Good
I travelled to this place by walk or wheel
I don't live far away so walked. About 10-15 min walk from Leith Walk's trams and buses.
Accessible facilities: Public or on street parking
Accessible Toilets
Average
Good size accessible loo, grab rails in contrasting white so easily visible. But the emergency cord was cut short and not reaching the ground. No mirror for all the glamorous wheelchair users who want to reapply their lippy to look fabulous. Also a baby change table folded up, but nicely out of the way as a spacious loo.
Facilities: Accessible toilet
Staff
Excellent
Lovely people work here! Kindly talked me through all the delicious locally brewed beers on offer.
Additional Information
It is a really large, versatile space for a party or another event. I love the exposed girders, tiled walls, concrete flooring and fairy lights.
