Our sons bought us a voucher for this Michelin star restaurant for a Christmas present. I phoned ahead to ask about Access & the owner was very helpful & accomodating.
Disabled Access In and Around
Average
There is a small step into the restaurant but my husband easily negotiated this with the wheelchair & help from the restaurant.’s manager. Inside the restaurant it was accessible with plenty of room for a wheelchair. I couldn’t have accessed this restaurant with my electric wheelchair.
Parking & Transport
Good
We parked on the Main Street outside the restaurant as there is no parking anywhere near the entry door. The pavements were adequate. The restaurant is situated through a small ‘courtyard’ .
Accessible Toilets
Bad
When I phoned prior to our visit I was told that there was no accessible toilet & that the toilet was down a couple of steps. This was ok as I was prepared & I can manage a couple of steps. As it would happen I didn’t need to use the toilet however it wouldn’t be suitable for someone who can’t negotiate steps.
Staff
Excellent
The staff were exceptionally helpful & friendly. On contacting them prior to our visit they were truthful & helpful in advising me what the restaurant access was like. On arriving staff were helpful, attentive, informative & friendly. A definite place to visit.
Additional Information
This restaurant was not fully accessible however it did not detract from our visit. The staff & the food more than made up for the access issues. Everything within the restaurant staff’s powers were done to make our visit hassle free & enjoyable. The food was EXCEPTIONAL & we will definitely visit again.
