I had a business meeting lunch planned for Monday and needed to find somewhere near Romsey, accessible, big enough to work as a meeting place bot a cosy venue and cost effective. The pub was refurbished relatively recently with the addition of guest rooms and is open for lunch on Mondays unlike many other places post Covid.
Disabled Access In and Around

The main entrance is by steps and the accessible path to the French doors via the patio whilst perfectly adequate is not well sign posted. The door to the restaurant would need to be opened by staff internally and the sign says Staff entrance only. Not exactly inviting but it is level access,
Parking & Transport
Average
A good relative level tarmac carpark but only one designated disabled parking space. Easy access from the main road between Romsey and Stockbridge, walking or wheeling here is not an option so drive only. For a new development of an old pub the owner has made all typical poor decisions regarding accessibility where with the correct advice it could be better. I imagine they opted to not seek any qualified consultancy regarding accessibility.
Accessible Toilets

There is internal ramped access through the restaurant/Bar area but I would be surprised if it is 1 in 10 and there is furniture making manoeuvring not ideal. The accessible wc door opens outward on the slope so I had to back into the gents toilet in order to get in - far from ideal. Once in it is a fantastic accessible wc with everything I needed NB: except the obligatory mirror only useable by those able to stand which is my pet hate
Staff
Good
Helpful, polite and accommodating. Good table service until we had received the bill yet no one came out to take payment, went in after 20 mins.
