Overview
This is our local "go to" pub. It's not the best for access but it's an old building which does not have capacity to modify to meet some modern standards
Transport & Parking
We live locally so often walk. Parking is available on Bridge Street (outside the premises) and across the road. It is possible to park behind the premises off Riverside Lane but this is not suitable for wheelchair users as the ramp is unsuitable and includes steps. Dropped kerb crossings are available on Bridge Street. Local taxi rank around the corner in Riverside Lane, a lot of vehicles are WAV so can provide accessible vehicles
Access
Wheelchair access to the premises is available via the fire escape. There is a ramp permanently in place. I go into the bar and ask them to open the door. I don't see a problem with phoning 01389 732816 and asking them to open the doors. The staff are great, always willing to help .
Toilets
Some writeups suggest there are accessible toilets. Unless the ladies is accessible I can't comment
Staff
Staff are great. My partner uses a wheelchair and has multiple food intolerances. There have been NO issues with the food and always several menu options. Always willing to discuss issues with menu options and modify where possible such as providing an available sauce or gravy that's not on the menu or removing items
