Overview
We went to see the VE Day exhibition which was fascinating but is not always there. There are always other local interest items and volunteer groups but you will need to check the website to see opening hours. www.basildonheritage.org.uk
Transport & Parking
Plenty of parking though the biggest speed ramp I have ever been over. A few minutes walk from the train station and a little further for the buses.
Access
There are ramps to the entrance and plenty of space inside. There is a self operated lift to the upstairs though the turn out of it was hampered by an old tin bath which I had to move.
Toilets
The disabled toilet was spacious and easy to find. Very clean too.
Staff
This centre is staffed totally by enthusiastic volunteers who were very welcoming and anxious to make sure we could get to see everything we wanted. We thought we would just pop in but were there nearly two hours.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
There are second hand books available by the entrance which are regularly replenished by donations. No charge for entry but donations welcomed.
