Coffee and cake at the cafe
What a find this was . We were staying at crathie opportunity holiday cottages nearby and had gone to visit crathie Kirk. Which unfortunately wasn’t open and hasn’t been since the pandemic it’s only open for Sunday morning service. The receptionist at the cottages said the highlander bakehouse was good for cakes. And. Coffee . I went over in my scooter.
As it’s rather small inside I wasn’t sure I would be allowed in with my scooter there’s only about 8 tables . The person who meet us at the door said no problem at all and found us a Suitable table so I could stay in my scooter. All the cakes and pastries are homemade my husband and I shared a fruit scone with jam as they are so large. I had a pot of tea I could choose which tea I wanted from a huge range of loose leave ones on display. My husband had a coffee. When our drinks and cake arrived the gentleman who brought it realised I wouldn’t manage the cup as the handle is rather tiny , he said wait a moment and produced a mug with a large handle and asked if that was better for me. You can also purchase. Cakes and pastries to take away with you. The scone was fantastic and we really enjoyed our drink and cake.
There is parking outside and a ramp up into the cafe , all the. Staff were very nice and helpful. Can’t fault it at all. It looks nothing from the outside but it’s certainly worth visiting we will go back again when in the area.
