The Light shopping centre has a very interesting set-up architecturally. It is almost like three venues in one, with the courtyard level at the bottom being a fancy atrium with gastronomy and access to the hotel, the arcade level in the middle housing a variety of shops and the balcony levels at the top taking care of entertainment with the cinema and an arcade. The whole space feels quite open and bright thanks to the different levels and the glass roof. This loftiness can become a little bit of a problem on the balcony levels if you are, like me, prone to get queasy when you are high up and can see all the way down, with nothing but a bit of glass between you and the floors below.

There are bus stops on The Headrow (7, 7A, 7S, 42, X10, 508) and Albion Street (stop also called Headrow; 1, 1A, 5, 5A, 22, 23, 24, 25, 27, 28, 38, 39, 56). There is no on-street parking in the area. There is a paid multi-storey car park attached to the shopping centre that has limited step-free access, so you need to make sure to park on one of the levels with access to a lift (level 2 and 4) if you need level access.

The toilets are on the top floor, across a foot bridge from the upper balcony level (UB). There are a lift and stairs up from the Arcade level (A). If you are in the courtyard level (C), there are escalators up to the Arcade level. The lift from the courtyard to the arcade is slightly hidden in a corner opposite the Radisson. Once you have crossed the footbridge, which has glass panels on the side and a wooden bannister on top, the corridor turns to the left. You can go up two shallow steps on the left or a ramp with contrasting lines (albeit on patterned tile flooring) on the right. There is a handrail in the middle (right of the stairs, left of the ramp). There are two smallish accessible bathrooms on the left. They both need RADAR keys to access. Right bathroom: The door opens to the outside left. There is no door opener. The handle on the outside is a short horizontal bar below the RADAR lock. There are red signs with white writing and Braille above the locks on either side informing you about the lock. There is a handrail on the back of the door and it locks by lifting up the handle. The sink is on the wall to your right. The toilet, wall-mounted sanitary product dispenser and the bin are on the back wall. There is a horizontal handrail to the right of the toilet that can be lifted and moved out of the way and a fixed horizontal handrail on the wall to the left of the toilet. The flush is a lever on the front of the tank. The toilet paper holder is to the left of the toilet. There is space for a left-side transfer, although the wall-mounted dispenser for sanitary products might get in the way. The red cord is in a corner by the door, not at all close to the toilet, and was all tied up when I was there. There is a vertical handrail on the left of the sink. The sink is a small wall-mounted sink and the tap has a short lever. There is a wall-mounted soap dispenser above the sink. There is only a hand dryer, no paper towels. The hand dryer is to the right of the sink. There is a small sanitary bin with a foot pedal to the left of the toilet. There is no mirror. Left bathroom: The door opens to the outside right. There is no door opener. The handle on the outside is a short horizontal bar below the RADAR lock. There are red signs with white writing and Braille above the locks on either side informing you about the lock. There is a handrail on the back of the door and it locks by lifting up the handle. There is a red cord by the door and dispenser for sanitary products back on the wall to your right when you come in. The sink is on the wall to your left. The toilet and the bin are on the back wall. There is a horizontal handrail to the left of the toilet that can be lifted and moved out of the way and a fixed horizontal handrail on the wall to the right of the toilet. The flush is a lever on the front of the tank. The toilet paper holder is to the right of the toilet. There is space for a right-side transfer, although the wall-mounted dispenser for sanitary products might get in the way. The red cord is in a corner by the door, not at all close to the toilet, and it ends at least a meter above the floor. There is a vertical handrail on the right of the sink. The sink is a small wall-mounted sink and the tap has a short lever. There is a wall-mounted soap dispenser above the sink. There is only a hand dryer, no paper towels. The hand dryer is to the left of the sink. There is a small sanitary bin with a foot pedal to the left of the toilet. There is no mirror.
