Overview

Venue let down by lack of disabled parking. It is on the main street but we parked not far up the road, about 100 metres from the hotel. The Linton had been off limits to disabled guests because of the upstairs restaurant. Word had got round that it now had a ground floor dining area. We were met by Pat, the owner, who showed us to our table and adjusted the furniture to suit our needs. The dining area looked to have been recently refurbished and was light and airy. We were offered an alternative table under which we could get the wheelchair but kept to our original position.

Access

Access was directly off the street through the hotel entrance. No steps involved, so ideal for wheelchair users.

Toilets

Good size and well equipped. You need to go in and reverse out. Not quite enough room to turn round.

Staff

Pat, the owner, took our order and the service was very quick but not rushed. The waitresses were excellent and pleasant.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I had for my starter, a Stornoway Black pudding with pineapple stack. This was served on a lettuce and red onion salad. The presentation was artistic as well as being very enjoyable. I followed this with a Linton Mess Sundae. I didn’t ask what it was because I was intrigued by the name. A large tall glass arrived filled with layers of ice cream, cream, raspberries and crushed meringues. Again it tasted as good as it looked. The bill came to £15 including a pint of Best! I would thoroughly recommend it to any disabled guest wanting a pub lunch with a difference. The owner’s husband is a butcher by trade and chooses all the meat. Mycarer looked at the menu and declared the steaks were excellent value for money.
