Excellent
This is part of the Sizzling Pubs chain and provides reasonably priced meals. There is also a bar area.
Disabled Access In and Around
Excellent
There is a short paved path and then a ramp to enter the premises. In places the path is slightly uneven, which wasn't a problem with a wheelchair, but might be more difficult for those unsteady on their feet. The wheel of the chair did get briefly stick, however, in a gap between two paving stones at the top of the ramp. Inside, the eating area was spacious with room to put a wheelchair up to the tables. A small part of this area was up steps, but there were many tables on the level. You order and pay for meals at the bar before eating.
Parking & Transport
Excellent
The pub has a large tarmac car park with several blue badge spaces. The car park is on a slight hill, but the disabled spaces are on the level. There is room to drop someone off if these spaces are occupied.
Accessible Toilets
Excellent
The loss of half a star is only because the accessible toilet is at the opposite end of the pub from the eating area, so quite a long walk for some. It is opened with a key so would need a walk back to the bar to collect this if you didn't know. We opened it with our RADAR key. The cubicle itself is roomy with plenty of space for a wheelchair and carer. There is a drop down grab rail and one attached to the wall on the other side.
Staff
Excellent
The staff were very helpful. Particular thanks to Shona, who in spite of working tirelessly, spotted us before we entered and had the door held open before we even got there. She rushed to do the same when we were leaving. I saw another member of staff carry drinks to the table for some customers who needed help.
Additional Information
The pub is only a couple of minutes drive from the Royal Alexandra Hospital. A handy place for a meal as some have to travel for 40 miles or more for appointments there.
