Overview
The Mansfield Hotel We went there on Friday evening for a spot of dinner with friends. We reserved a table for 6:30 pm which allow us enough time to park up in the car park and enter the building quite easily even though I was in my chair. Upon arrival at the restaurant you sat in a lounge with comfy chairs and offered to read the menu and order any drinks. Once you’ve decided and placed your order, the waiter or waitress will show you to your table which in this instance had a chair removed prior to me Getting to the table which is a nice touch as there is nothing worse when they make a fuss in front of other diners. The food arrives and there was no complaints from any of us on the quantity and quality of the food, even though it was a busy Friday evening. We indulged in a sweet treat on included a pudding and we were pleasantly surprised that the total bill was around £40 a head for two courses plus drinks. The drinks did include glasses of wine and cocktails. We will definitely frequent this facility again as the Accessibility was fantastic and parking and offloading was easy in a quiet confined car park as opposed to on the street.
Transport & Parking
The car park is covered with loose stones which are not a friend of a Wheelchair however the distance from my car to the path was not far and my chair handled it. If you were pushing a wheelchair, it would be a little bit difficult.
Access
Access from the rear of the property is step three and level there are some doors so if you’re on your own would be difficult however with a companion it is not an issue.
Toilets
There were disabled facilities, however, I never used them.
Staff
I could not fault the stuff they were friendly and polite at all times and they were not hovering constantly and left you to enjoy your meal in peace.
