Overview

I paid a short visit to The Portobello Workshop at a nice quiet time. It is nice and spacious and has something for everyone.

Transport & Parking

I came by bus (Lothian 21, 26, 42, 49, 124 buses pass through here) and I believe there is some curbside parking on the High Street.

Access

The entrance is not level access however a portable ramp can be brought out. There is a doorbell to alert the staff to bring this if they don’t see you at the door. There is some seating around the shop which I thought was great for someone who might need a rest.

Toilets

I did not use the toilet or notice it in the shop. Their website describes a narrow staff toilet that customers can use but not sure if it is accessible.

Staff

Super kind and helpful when making sure the ramp was placed safely.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

There is a limited number of people allowed in store at the one time. There is a one way system in place and social distancing is encouraged. You are also asked to wear a face covering. Hand sanitiser is at the door sitting at an accessible height.
