    Excellent

The Usual Place is a wonderfully accessible venue and I returned more than once during my visit to Dumfries. Esch time the service was wonderful and the food reasonably priced and very tasty. There is an excellent Changing Places toilet. My only issue was a slight difficulty hearing due to the echoey nature of the room.

This is an example of a church conversion done right! Access is on level with 2 automatic doors with push pad button to open. The Changing Places toilet has a separate entrance so you don't need to go through the cafe to access it.

Accessible facilities: Single-level venue, Step-free entrance, Seating at regular intervals, Step-free access to most areas

Parking in this part of town is a challenge, especially with a WAV. I was able to park on the double yellows outside the venue on one day but the other I couldn't find a park close by and ended up wheeling from a public car park some distance away.

Accessible facilities: Public or on street parking

This venue has a large Changing Places toilet with plenty of room to turn which is well sign posted from the café. The door to the toilet opens outward and does not need a RADAR key to access. There is a ceiling hoist, height-adjustable changing bench, lowered sink with lever-style tap, soap dispenser, hand dryer and a lowered mirror. There are vertical grabrails on both sides of the sink and toilet, as well as fold down grabrails on both sides of the toilet. The toilet is a Closomat toilet with space on each side for left-side transfer and right-side transfer, neither of which were obstructed by a bin. The Red Cord hung all the way to the floor and the Red Cord Card was present and correct.

Facilities: Red Cord Card, Closomat toilet, Accessible toilet, Changing Places toilet
