    About

Titanic Belfast, located at the heart of Titanic Quarter - only a short walk from Belfast’s city centre, is not only an architectural triumph for the city, but it houses the world’s largest Titanic visitor experience. Situated beside the Titanic Slipways, the Harland and Wolff Drawing Offices and Hamilton Graving Dock – the very place where Titanic was designed, built and launched in 1912, the iconic six-floor building tells the story of the Titanic from her conception in Belfast in the early 1900s, through her construction and launch, to its maiden voyage and subsequent place in history. The self-guided Titanic Experience, featuring 10 interactive galleries that explore the sights, sounds, smells and stories of Titanic, as well as the City and people which made her, is an unmissable experience which brings history to life in an unforgettable way. Having just undertaken a £4.5 million refresh in 2023, the world-class visitor attraction has introduced a new theme – the pursuit of dreams, and boasts a stunning new artefact collection and an illuminated 7.6m long scale model of RMS Titanic which is suspended from the ceiling and fully rotates in sync with state-of-the-art projections for a truly immersive experience. The venue also includes conference and banqueting suites which can be hired for private or corporate functions.

Certain places were a bit crowded but overall mostly accessible

We were doing a driving tour of Ireland and Belfast was our last but one stop. We were actually staying in the titanic hotel which is across the street from the titanic experience. Most of it was accessible, except for the cable car ride, which wouldn’t fit my electric wheelchair. Some of the spaces were very crowded which made it difficult to manoeuvre my wheelchair so we hurried through those sections. Overall, accessible with lifts at appropriate places without having to double back on yourself.

Near, far, where EV you are

Despite the focus on a rather old ship, the Titanic Visitor Centre has some thoroughly modern features, including 6 11kw EV charging spaces on level -2

Impressive in many aspects and has a Changing Places toilet

I need to confess that I didn't visit Titanic Belfast to experience the exhibits, it was far too late in the day for that, but I did nip in to use the loo and gather some more general accessibility information. If I have the opportunity to return, I'll update this review. That said, it's great that this location has a Changing Places toilet and two accessible toilets that don't require admission to be paid to access them. Titanic Belfast needs no introduction, attracting close to a million tourists each year, it's arguably the premier attraction in a city with a lot to see.
