There is a huge billboard above the doorways advertising the Vue cinema inside the shopping centre. Below the billboard is a sign with the name of the shopping centre and below that is a row of lots of doorwaysAnother entrance to the Brightly lit indoor mall hallway with white tiled flooring, featuring signs for "Clocktower Dining" and a large circular "VC" logo.Victoria Centre shopping mall entrance and multi-storey car park in Nottingham. One of the accessible toilets in the centre. Good

Victoria Centre is a large shopping centre with lots of different shops and food vendors across multiple floors. There are lifts to travel between the floors and there are multiple entrances that all have at least one automated doorway. Some parts of the centre can get very busy to travel through.

There are multiple entrances to this shopping centre with lots of doorways at the entrance, there was always at least one doorway that was automated in some way at each entrance. The floors were a smooth white tile throughout which was very easy to wheel across. There were some sections where one floor had different heights so there were small staircases or a ramp to travel between the two levels. There were also lifts available to travel between the main floors of the centre. The entrances to the shops were all level with the shopping mall and had open doorways to go inside. I didn’t notice any lips between the main walkways and the shop either.

Accessible facilities: Lift to all areas, Step-free entrance, Step-free access to most areas

    Accessible Toilets

    Good

There were accessible toilets available and also a Changing Places toilet. However, the Changing Places toilet was out of order when I visited so I wasn’t able to see inside. The accessible toilet I used was quite a large space with plenty of room. It didn’t need a RADAR key to get inside and had a small twist lock on the inside. There was a lowered coat hook and full-length mirror. The toilet had space for a right-side transfer. There were grab rails around the toilet including one that could be raised and lowered. There was a large sanitary bin that was against the wall but it still left lots of space for the transfer space. There was a plastic backrest behind the toilet seat. The flush was a lever flush and it was mounted on the wall behind the toilet. It was placed on the same side as the transfer area so you did not have to reach across the toilet to use it. A small sink was in front of the toilet with a single tap mounted on the right side. The tap was manually operated and had a long lever handle which seemed like it could be operated with a fist or elbow. The tap twisted to control both the temperature and flow of the water. A red emergency cord hung freely between the sink and the toilet.

Facilities: Accessible toilet, Red Cord Card
