Overview
We ended up in the Viking by accident, as we were let down by the local Travelodge who had messed up our booking request for an accessible room. They found us the Viking as an alternative, and whilst there were good things about it, the access was not suitable for my needs as a full time wheelchair user; in particular the bathroom had no wet room and the space was limited (see photos). The hotel would have been lovely for someone without additional needs; it was spotless and the food was excellent.
Transport & Parking
We drove there. The hotel is on a hill, and you need to park in the upper car park. There are accessible bays and a wheel down to Reception. My husband had to push me up to the car the next morning.
Access
Moving around the hotel the access was good. There were lifts to the rooms, and a lift down into the restaurant.
Toilets
I used the toilet in out hotel room. The space was very cramped because of the shower cubicle (see photos). There were grab rails. It would be more suited to someone who can walk a few steps as it was too squashed to get my (active, manual) chair in.
Staff
Helpful and friendly.
