Overview
This was my 2nd stay at Vindomora Lodges with my wife who has dementia and can no longer communicate or is unable to walk or do any personal actions. The Lodges are well looked after and very clean there is a portable hoist that fits onto a rail in the bedroom and also can be used to assist someone into the hot tub with another rail running above it. The hot tub is maintained to a very high standard. There is a disabled shower with a shower chair and there is plenty of room to manoeuvre a wheel chair around the lodge. The only problem I have encountered is the fact my wife needs a profile bed with a high risk matress. I have managed to hire a bed for both the stays but there is a set hire of between 10 to 14 nights so for 4 nights I've had to pay out over £500 on rental costs which is steep when you can buy a bed and high risk matress for about £2200. Craig the manager and other members of stay are very helpful and I would recommend a stay here you won't regret it
Transport & Parking
You need a car to get here there us a bus service on the main road but a hill up to it. I used my car and parking is outside the lodge
Access
For my needs the lodge was ideal but others with disabilities like hearing or sight might need more equipment fitted.
Toilets
There is a disabled toilet but no rail if you need to use the hoist
Staff
Craig the manager is very helpful and I would recommend you talk to him about any questions
Anything else you wish to tell us?
I plan visiting on two occasions next year
Venue Manager responded to this review
Thank you for your review, it is greatly appreciated. Just to clarify re the profile bed. This was hired from an external company and not by Vindomora Country Lodges.
