Overview

Lovely, large enough to support almost all chairs and scooters With a place to store your machine out of the way. Our advice would be to book your break on the phone with the hotel, be patient, our experience with Warner hotels is that it can be frustrating at times to get through, they are always busy, and explain what you need in your room. Make sure it’s an accessible room, with walk in shower, the room is large enough for whatever aid you use, would you like a balcony, and is it near enough to a lift, some of there corridors have turns to get along, and usually the carpets are nice and new, with thick underlays, very nice, but not always easy for your wheelchair or for your carer to push across. But what a pleasant moan we can have when things look good. You may wish to look up and check the plans of rooms at the hotel and sort out for yourself an idea of where in the castle you would like to be, but then, still book it with them. If you want a specific room, you may pre-book that room, at an extra charge of about £30.00, but do so at the time of booking. So far, we have done it this way with any hotel group as well as Warners, and we have always been pleased with their support, sometimes finding we have been upgraded to far better rooms, and we can assure you that at Warners, they will do the best they can for you.

Transport & Parking

3.5

Parking is a little away from the hotel, we suggest your driver first of all takes you up to the entrance for the hotel, drop you off, we’ll, not literally, then take you inside, while the driver then moves the car and parks up. Warners don’t always have dedicated disabled bays, but generally you can get reasonably close to the hotel.

Access

4.5

When parking, there is a slight uphill ramp to get up to the main entrance, but after that, it’s all on the level for you throughout the castle, there are lifts, reasonably large enough for most scooters, check with hotel if yours is a little larger than normal. Entry into your room does not always mean a extra large doorway, we found at Studley we could just about get in without folding our wheelchair, and found a space in the room to le@ve the chair.

Toilets

4.5

Each room and bathroom will be different but ours was huge, with plenty of space if wheelchair needed to be taken inside. Everything was handy to use, an excellent shower with easy controls, washbasins at a nice height, hot towel rails, easy to set controls, so all in all, a very ideal room for disabled people.

Staff

4

Throughout the hotel, we found staff in general to be friendly and willing to support us. Mind you we do not have a chip on our shoulders, so we make it easy for staff to want to help us.
