I was merrily wheeling my way to the West Links Changing Places toilet when I happened upon West Links Park. It wasn't the best day for a trip to the park, I'll admit, but I felt it would be a great place to spend a sunny or at least not rainy day. With picnic benches and a spot to pick up a hot drink or even a hotter chilli dog, it's a pleasant waterside park. Most exciting of all is that the park has a wheelchair accessible swing, which you can access with a RADAR key.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
The park has level access throughout via the well maintained tarmac paths. The promenade offers an alternative route for walking or wheeling to the park. The accessible swing set is lovely to see, though I wish there was other accessible play equipment onsite. The play park is bordered in sections by sand and stone, which I expect is due to its seaside location but this is a barrier to disabled children and parents alike. For those feeling a little more adventurous, there is an outdoor go-kart track which can be used by bikes and by those with certain power attachments on their wheelchair (me). There are benches throughout the park, with further benches near the Chalmer's Cinema. There are no alternative formats in use at the park.

I travelled to this place by walk or wheel
There are plenty of standard parking spaces and two accessible parking spaces at the entrance near the toilet block. This area is also used by the nearby Chalmers Cinema, so it may get busy at times. The closest bus stop is on Dundee Road, on the other side of the park. If coming on foot or wheeling your way, the park can also be accessed via the promenade.

Accessible Toilets
I can't rate the loos as I wasn't able to access them. At present the Changing Places toilet is open April to September from 10am to 6pm and from 1 October to mid October, which is the end of the school holidays, from 10am to 5pm and it is closed in winter. The accessible toilets were also locked when I attended in November 2025.
