Overall Rating
Excellent
This was the first time I’d been to Wetherby Races since I started using my powerchair, but I’d been many times before over the years. From the very start I was made to feel very welcome, and every single staff member was helpful and kind. There is a viewing platform in the Tattersalls Enclosure for wheelchair users, which is easy to access and gives a great view of the track. There’s a viewing area at the back of the Premier Enclosure Grandstand, designated for disabled people. All bars and cafe areas are level access. Most of the footpaths are ramped, alternative routes are available where there are steps. I don’t think I had to open a single door on my own, as the Stewards were quick to help and very cheerful. There are disabled toilets around the grounds. The one I used in the Premier Enclosure was a little on the small side and required some quite precise manoeuvring. As I’m ambulant, I left my chair outside the loo the next time I needed to go, just to make it easier for me.
