Telling Wiltshire’s Story 500,000 years of Wiltshire’s story told in our £750,000 gallery featuring high quality graphics and leading-edge reconstructions. Gold from the Time of Stonehenge * Our award-winning displays feature spectacular treasures dating to the time of Stonehenge and worn by people who worshiped inside the stone circle. Lots for children too * Follow Archie and Ollie on a gallery trail, build Stonehenge, examine the evidence under a microscope and try on Bronze Age clothes. Accessibility

We are committed to ensuring that our building and collections are as accessible as possible - the Museum occupies two Grade II listed Georgian houses, a Victorian school hall and a modern extension! A platform lift is available to assist users accessing the upper floors - see below. Dogs Service dogs only permitted. Wheelchair users are able to see most of the Museum collections via a lift and ramps: * GROUND FLOOR. Includes the Medieval, Roman, Iron Age and now our new Prehistoric Wiltshire Galleries. One of our special exhibition galleries and the Museum shop are also on the ground floor, plus a wheelchair accessible toilet. * There are some small changes of level at the entrance to the galleries on the ground floor, but portable ramps are available. * FIRST FLOOR. Accessible via a platform lift, includes our Lecture Hall, Archive and Library, Art Gallery, Recent History Gallery, Devizes Gallery and Saxon Gallery. The latter galleries are currently being re-displayed and may close at short notice as work progresses. Archive and Library. Located on the first floor and accessible via the platform lift for those who find the stairs a challenge. Toilets There is a level-access toilet suitable forwheelchair users on the ground floor. Induction Loop System These are provided at Reception and in the Lecture Hall. Large Print Material Large print museum plans and gallery guides are available at reception.
