Overview
Nothing was too much trouble re advice before we arrived then meeting my needs in my bedroom. As much or as little support is available in-house as the hotel is alongside a Care Home under the same ownership. Interlaken is entirely wheelchair accessible as is the very efficient public transport services.
Transport & Parking
My daughter and I flew from Heathrow to Zurich then got the train to Interlaken via Bern. A first class app, SBB Mobile, provides timetables for trains & buses, showing any delays. Each train journey also shows if the train provides level access (many do) or if a lift or ramp needs to be booked. As one hour notice is all that is required it works very well. Buses are spacious carrying at least 2 wheelchairs each. We certainly got full value from the Swiss Travel Pass which saved us money. Trains, buses and boats on the lakes are free with 50% discounts on the mountain railways and Gondolas.
Access
The very quiet hotel has 3 floors with lifts. We were on the ground floor overlooking gardens.
Toilets
I only used my loo in my bedroom. Around town there were disabled toilets but the Swiss equivalent of a Radar key is required to open them. The same key, a "eurokey.ch" is required to operate some lifts on the mountain railways.
Staff
Hotel staff were friendly and efficient. Rooms are cleaned daily. Two receptionists were so helpful offering advice on where to dine, what time the buses depart etc.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
While I considered the hotel fees to be good value eating and drinking in restaurants and bars is expensive.
