    Disappointingly wheelchair-unfriendly

    Date of visit: October 2025

I am a disabled person. I have experience of challenges around: accessing toilets and moving around.

I use or have experience of: disabled toilet

    Poor

A very disappointing visit: broken doorbell, brusque staff, access to the "accessible" (!) toilet blocked by piles of crates of soft drinks.

    Disabled Access In and Around

    Bad

This was a dismal visit from the moment we arrived at the entrance. The doorbell was broken, so I was unable to summon a member of staff to request the ramp to get inside the restaurant. Eventually my friend went in and fetched her. I told her that she needed to check the doorbell, as it appeared not to be working. Her reply was a brusque and casual "Yeah it's not working." No apology, no mention of getting it fixed. Later, I found that the corridor to the accessible toilet was blocked with piles of crates of soft drinks. Eventually she moved them into a side room and I was able to get to the toilet. My visit was a dismal experience altogether.

    Good

I travelled to this place by train

Chichester Station is fully step-free and has lovely staff. The lifts have been broken for a long time, so step-free access between platforms has to be achieved using a long detour outside the station, including a level crossing.

    Accessible Toilets

For the reasons given above, access to the "accessible" (!) toilet was not possible at first.
