MND Scotland x Euan’s Guide
Welcome to your dedicated page where you will soon find a collection of great accessible places to visit on your journey with MND.
Every one of these places will be selected and curated by other people living with MND, including our founder, Euan Macdonald, who created Euan’s Guide in 2013 after his own MND diagnosis left him reeling in a suddenly inaccessible world.
Navigating an MND diagnosis is a profoundly difficult experience. Euan wanted to help other disabled people find the glimmers of accessible space beyond the windowless medical rooms, and to focus on the boring, beautiful everyday challenge of looking after your whole self.
That might look like continuing the weekly ritual of going to the cinema with your friends in an increasingly bulky powerchair, or meeting your sister for coffee at a new favourite haunt because your old regular is up a flight of stairs. MND changes everything, but you don’t have to learn to navigate the world with it alone.
We are honoured and excited for this new collaborative venture with MND Scotland, which is funded by the Gordon Aikman Scholarship and the Scottish Government.
We will be building this page with MND nurses and attendees of the MND Scotland’s series of LEARN events, and hope that together - and with all of you - we can honour Euan’s legacy by building a community that shares Scotland’s accessible places.
