Making Time Count: Euan's Guide Partners with MND Scotland

We have some exciting news to share - and what better day to share it on than Euan’s Birthday!

Euan's Guide has been awarded a Gordon Aikman Scholarship from MND Scotland and The Scottish Government, and we're using it to build something we believe will make a real difference: a dedicated, co-branded digital access guide for people living with MND in Scotland.

A partnership with meaning

MND Scotland is marking its 45th year with a clear and powerful mission: Making Time Count. It's a phrase that resonates at Euan's Guide. Our organisation was founded by Euan MacDonald MBE following his own diagnosis with Motor Neuron Disease. Euan was determined to keep doing the things that mattered to him, and the lack of reliable disabled access information kept getting in the way. That frustration became something extraordinary.

About the Gordon Aikman Scholarship

Launched in 2017 in honour of the late Gordon Aikman, the Scholarships are designed to drive service improvement for people affected by MND in Scotland by improving the care or quality of life of people with MND or their family or carers.

We are honoured to be a recipient.

What we're doing…

We are going to be developing a tailored version of EuansGuide.com, in partnership with MND Scotland and designed specifically around the journeys people with MND make every day. That means accessible places to eat and stay near clinics, information about Changing Places toilets, transport options, and all the practical detail that helps someone plan a journey with confidence rather than dread.

This guide will be shaped by the people who need it most. We'll be working directly with people living with MND, their families and carers, to make sure it reflects real lives and real journeys.
