Overview
The Senshu Gallery and Kenzo Okada Memorial Museum are in Akita City Centre. The gallery offers a varied programme of exhibitions of paintings, calligraphy and photography.
Transport & Parking
The gallery is a 15 minute walk from the main station. There are bus services to stops nearby but I did not use them.
Access
The gallery has been designed to be as accessible as possible. A lift provides access to the exhibition space itself. The ground floor entrance has a spacious gift shop and waiting area. The ticket desks are higher up, but staff will come out to help. I am not sure about large print provision. Interpretation of exhibits is almost entirely in Japanese.
Toilets
As pictured. Clean and well-maintained with a button operated sliding door and plenty of grab rails.
Staff
Friendly and polite.
Anything else you wish to tell us?
Photography is restricted in the main exhibition spaces.
