This review is especially helpful for those who have or use the following: Walking Aid, Wheelchair, Powerchair
Overview
Easy to book an accessible bedroom. Modern, clean throughout. Very good facilities for power wheelchair user with carer. Only 10 mins walk/ power wheelchair stroll from the centre of old Bath and the Abbey
Transport & Parking
We drove. There were 3 blue badge unrestricted time parking bays on the service street beside the hotel, but these were not able to be reserved. There is an unloading bay immediately outside the hotel but without a dropped kerb. There was a good ramp to the front entrance and push button opening door.
Access
There was plenty of space in reception area but no dropped counter for the wheelchair user. Staff were very helpful. Both lifts had plenty of space for wheelchair and all the luggage/ bed rests/extra pillows etc. Buttons to floors were all accessible for the w/c user. All landings were carpeted with wide corridors and good access to rooms. The w/c user did not access the spa area so cannot comment on this area but it was great relaxation for the carer. Bedroom was very spacious with plenty pf space particularly to the left of the bed in one room and to the right of the bed in the other. Worth requesting what is needed. There was an emergency call button to the left of the bed.
Toilets
Very accessible. Plenty of space to manoeuvre. Grab rails and supports. Emergency cord in good condition, height and location. Accessible shower room with bedroom was very spacious, with sturdy, portable, shower seat offered at reception. Many grab rails, both folding and fixed to wall.
Staff
Everyone was very helpful . Rooms were grouped in our party of 5, 2 with mobility needs (one in a w/c) They helped take everything to the car on a trolley at the end of the stay.
