Overview

The Attic is on the seafront in Southend. Not far from the old gasworks car park, and good but pay as you use parking bays to the front of the Cafe ( you can get an app for your device so you can top-up payments and the app sends you text messages reminders when your paid time is going to run out ). The Cafe is light and airy, with tables down one side and a sofa and chairs on the right as you enter. Lots of space for a wheelchair, and a good accessible loo to the back of the Cafe. Very helpful and friendly staff, but not over the top. The range of hot drinks, soft drinks, and food is very good. The Cafe is used by various local groups to hold meetings due to its good access and helpful staff. Be it Scope, or a learning disability monthly hub meeting. Well worth a visit, and say hi to Kath, she is the boss lady.

Transport & Parking

Paid parking to the front of the Cafe ( on street ). Bus stop not far away, and a big off road car park near to the bus stop. I have parked my car in front of the Cafe.

Access

4.5

Good space in the venue ( it is not huge but the space is well used ). Adapted toilet to the back of the Cafe. No loop system for aid with the T switch that I am aware of.

Toilets

To the back of the Cafe. Very clean and tidy ( spotless ). Space to transfer from chair to loo. Space for carer as well.

Wonderful. Always helpful and sensitive to your needs and those of others. kath ( boss lady ) cannot be more helpful, and spot on when knowing when to offer help or not.

Anything else you wish to tell us?

I had a 60th lunch time meal with a small group of friends at the Attic ( it was a surprise ). Bangers and mash...oh my so yummy. Kath is a top notch cook, be it bangers ( top quality locally sourced ) and mash, or whatever else is on offer. I would recommend to others.
