I am a disabled person and a carer or friend of a disabled person and a general supporter of disabled access. I have experience of challenges around: a hidden impairment, accessing toilets, dexterity or coordination and moving around.

Excellent
A small store with limited accessibility features. The main entrance to the store is a double door, of which only one door is left open and as it is a heavy door, I had no chance of opening it from my wheelchair. Thankfully, my standard-sized wheelchair is just small enough to fit through this doorway without bashing my hands against the doorframe or having to propel using my tyres.
Disabled Access In and Around
Good
The entrance to the store is narrow and anyone with a wider than standard mobility aid will struggle with independent access if both doors are not open (which they usually are not). The store itself is fairly small with a good selection of clothing, bric a brac, toys and books etc, but this also means that a lot of the selection is higher up on the wall where anyone in a seated position will struggle to access these items without assistance. I managed to navigate the store with relative ease until it came to maneouvering past other customers, as the shop isn't big enough for people with wheel/power chairs to get around other people.

There are plenty of disabled parking spaces available, along with EV charging points at the rear of the car park. A short distance away on foot are links to public transport.

Staff
Excellent
Staff at Barnardos are always friendly and welcoming. I have always been comfortable shopping here and leave with a smile on my face after interacting with them.
