A great cycle ride on flat terrain through the countryside
We were staying in Bath at the Indigo Hotel (review submitted) and had bought my bike and also my husband's Stricker handcycle attachment for his wheelchair along in our car. The Bath to Bristol Railway Path is a 13 mile route on the national cycle network. We cycled from our hotel through the town, which was a bit busy and found a path next to the river which we were able to cycle along. There were a couple of path closures due to repairs and we followed the diversion signs which took us back onto the river path. The Bath to Bristol railway path starts at Brassmill Lane and when cycling along the river you will see the blue signs which state that the path starts in 500 yards and you have to go along a quiet road to get there. Once on the railway path its all flat and wide and takes you through lovely countryside and over bridges. You know you are on the right track as there are quite a few cyclists enjoying the route but it wasn't over busy. We didn.t do the whole route this time but will definately come back to go to Bristol and back next time.
