Inspire Beeston Library is a welcoming place to read, learn, and enjoy culture. It is free to join and gives access to a range of services. Browse and borrow books, use a PC or Wi-Fi, research family history, or simply relax in our refreshment areas. Join in regular events—perfect for meeting new people and trying activities like crafting, colouring, reading groups, and children’s sessions. Adult Learning courses offer a friendly environment to gain new skills or explore a hobby just for fun. Disabled Access at Beeston Library

The library is on two levels and has a standard lift that provides access to all public areas and is clearly signposted. To ensure the lift is in service you can check our service disruption page by clicking this link Service Disruptions | Inspire - Culture, Learning, Libraries Several seating areas are spread around the libraries ground floor, this includes the cafe area with vending machine for hot drinks and a water machine. There is an accessible ramp to gain entry from the outside and leading to the main automatic double doors. The helpdesk is at an accessible height with chairs and located on the ground floor. Wheel chair spaces can be reserved at any events

Accessible formats at Beeston Library

Audiobooks on CD for both adults and children are available. E-audio titles for both adults and children can be borrowed for free via a website or app (with accessibility features including increased font size and dyslexic-friendly fonts) with a library card. Children’s picture books in Large Print and braille can be requested for collection at any Inspire Library. Easy Read and dyslexia-friendly titles for adults and young children are available in our larger libraries and can be requested for collection at any Inspire Library Large Print books for adults are available. Accessible services at Beeston Library

An evac mat is located on the first floor to enable safe evacuation down the stairs. All rooms have fire doors so the option of remaining behind a fire door until help arrives is optional. A general assisted listening system is available at the main library desk and in meeting rooms Emergency assistance alarms are fitted in both toilets Flashing lights are triggered when fire alarm activated
