    About

Bluebell Railway is a heritage steam railway operating from Sheffield Park Station near Uckfield. Visitors can embark on a vintage train journey through the Sussex countryside, exploring locomotive sheds, a museum, and a gift shop. The family friendly attraction features traditional catering facilities, including the Bessemer Arms restaurant where visitors can enjoy a meal or a drink amidst a living film set atmosphere.

Designated accessible parking spaces are available at Sheffield Park Station, and station staff are on hand to assist visitors via a ramped crossing between platforms if needed.

    Simply Wonderful

The staff are kind and helpful and really genuinely seem to want to help. From the station staff to the train staff, volunteers and paid staff alike want to give you the best chance to make the most of your visit. They have, at great expense, put in a couple of carriages with a lift from platform to train and kitted out the carriage with space for wheelchairs and fold up chairs for your family to sit with you.

Pleasant but lacking in some areas.

Definitely 'doable' - we went from East Grinstead return by steam off peak. Staff were friendly, access via platform lift up into the adapted carriage. Close parking. Let down by their definition of accessible meaning a six inch step. No concessions unless a frequent user.
