Overview

After navigating Camden Market in my manual wheelchair and battling my way across the cobbles, I needed something to eat that was both fast and filling. I happened to spot Brick Lane Bagel Company, assessed that it would do the trick, and stopped by. The restaurant is rather exposed to the elements, but that wasn't an issue on the sunny March day that my stomach led me here. If you're in the area and need something to power you through the rest of the day, it's a great option. I had the Reuben, which I'd highly recommend.

Transport & Parking

2

The nearest bus stop is on Kentish Town Road, served by the 88, 134, 214 and N20. I got here from Euston, getting off at the last stop on Camden High Street, where you’ll find the 1, 24, 27, N5, N27 and N28. Hawley Road is also nearby, with the 1, 24, 27, 31, N5, N27, N28 and N31 running there. Camden Underground is less than half a mile away, though I hear differing opinions on accessibility at the station. There are a few on-street parking spaces around, but finding one is really just down to luck

Access

3

Brick Lane Bagel Company has level access and consists of little more than a kitchen, till, four tables and a large parasol. The seats are made of light metal, which made them easy for me to move to get my wheelchair closer to the table. There is no lowered section or hearing loop at the order counter, but there is a helpful member of staff who brought my food and drink to me, rather than having me struggle to get both my order and wheelchair to a suitable table. The menu is printed overhead, but is also available on their app, which can be downloaded from bricklanebagel.co. There are no alter formats in use. Additonal seating can be found by the nearby canal if the venue is busy when you arrive.

Toilets

0

There are no accessible toilets at this venue, though there are accessible toilets within the local Hawley Wharf, as well as a Changing Places toilet. I didn’t get the chance to visit either. As I didn’t use the toilets, and they aren’t part of this business, I won’t give a rating here.

Staff

The staff were really helpful, bringing my order over to the table and making sure I was comfortable.
