Overview
I booked early March for stay on 26th April. I requested a disabled accessible room which was shown on my booking confirmation. When we arrived I was told there had been a mistake and the room was actually upstairs. They said they only had one ground floor room already occupied. The web site mentioned ground floor rooms (plural) with disabled access. We had to wait in draughty area for 30 minutes for mistake to be confirmed then had to return home without even a cup of tea.Very disappointed and a bit upset at their lack of understanding that a flight of stairs are NOT accessible.
Transport & Parking
We drove here parking was in a car park across the road from the hotel.this is rural area so not too much traffic but some cars were a bit fast so be careful crossing the road.
Access
There was a ramp into the hotel.
Toilets
I went to the disabled public toilet which was adequate.
Staff
Staff did not seem concerned at their mistake or the fact that we had to drive all the way home. When telling me the promised disabled access room wasn't available the man said he would move me to a room nearer the top of the stair! He didn't seem to understand that I couldn't get up the stairs!
Anything else you wish to tell us?
No I would not recommend this as it was very upsetting and a bit humiliating . As I didn't see inside any rooms I don't know what they were like and we didn't get our dinner so I can't say if the food was ok or not. The only good thing was that it was lighter at night for driving home on winding roads.
